Exclusive Ballooning’s Special Shape Penguin, Puddles had his first maiden flight this morning.

Flying alongside local engineering company Renishaw’s balloon, both took off from Stroud in the morning sunshine. Puddles flew west out towards Stonehouse and Eastington, attracting much attention from people on the ground and saying good morning to those looking out their bedroom window early on a Saturday morning! Many drivers were seen pulling over to stop and take a picture of the unique Penguin.

Having been in the air for over an hour, the special shape hot air balloon came into land in the only appropriate location; Puddleworth!

Puddles is the result of Exclusive Ballooning’s 15th birthday competition, where we invited our facebook fans to design a balloon, with the winner having their idea turned into reality. Our winner, Bristol based artist Tom Moore, was on site this morning to see Puddles inflated and fly for the first time.

Tom said ‘It was fantastic to see the balloon for the first time! To think that he started as a simple sketch and now he is here and flying through the air, is great. I am really happy and proud to have been involved with something like this and working with Exclusive Ballooning has been really rewarding.’
